Each and every material has it´s own grace, in this case mineral stone. It has indeed a huge process, however what an amazing final look! Client wanted instead of an existing jacuzzi a comfy bath and extra shower too. A few extra goodies along the way and oh my, what fine style this was. Space might have been reduced, but so many more things were gained. Toilet´s position was changed, plumbing was completely modified, loads of demolition done to concieve a bareback state and so as to save a few cms of space for the extra services. Electric underfloor heating included. I love everything I do, but this sort of things where absolutely all trades are involved tickles al my senses!

Another tricky temporary wall partition since it´s not anchored onto the floor.
Why? Well it´s not always best to damage the flooring for obvious reasons! This
partition is to get removed within a year, so hey, why not make use of the
space you have and enjoy it! I totally agree with this client´s philosophy – in
fact, I tend to repaint my place every year at least once, whether I have plans
to relocate or not. Whether it´s 6 months, or 5 years, it makes your stay just
a that little bit better, more comfortable and worthwhile. Perhaps, that´s the main difference
between a home, and a place where we reside.
Enjoy the space where you spend most probably a third of your day!

I´d personally say that communication is
definitely the highest on my list. The constant interaction makes all projects
either a success or not. Brainstorming ideas are the best way for giving a
client the options, possible complications and solutions, and for the builder/contractor
to express his/her knowledge and experience. (It´s quite easy to pick up the
amount of experience of any builder or decorator bringing forth a slight “hick
up”, and that´s also the moment things come together if experienced - of course). The following was an
execution of a perfect mind understanding. Ideas we´re bouncing all over the show throughout the project :-) I´ve only got
a few in between photos, but that gives you the perfect opportunity to go and
have a look yourself, meet the friendly owner.

The challenge with this following project
was, that it had to be completely temporary, yet safe and sound. After
carefully analysing the space, it was clear that the floor was sacred and thus
I couldn´t anchor anything onto the floor. Since the ceiling surface was rather
big, I decided not to anchor there neither. When confronted with a situation like this, I
generally think of the removal too, and try as much as possible to make things
a bit better and easier for whoever will do it. Not anchoring onto both horizontal
and vertical surfaces, make it clear that there´ll be different forces going
into different directions, so it was important to come up with an indestructible
and solid framework. Another complication was on the door´s framework. Once
again I couldn´t anchor onto the floor. Doors are most likely one of the most
used objects in any building and need to be 100% firm and square. There was
only one week point that had me thinking night after night! Came up with an
unimaginable design.
